1. Oakhaven

Adrift in the Silver Void

Cast adrift after the cosmos-shattering event known as the Great Shattering, our heroes are survivors from dying worlds. Their unlikely sanctuary is Oakhaven, a shard of the Feywild ripped from its plane. This floating island of bioluminescent woods and amethyst beaches is propelled through the silver void by the immense, sail-like canopy of three Wayfarer Oaks.

Our heroes have banded together as The Watch, defending the happy-go-lucky natives from the dangers of the void to ensure your continued residence..

The Festival of First Budding

Before dawn below the bows of the Heart Tree outside Marna’s Bakery, Marna fusses over the Watch provided fresh Nectar-Cakes to bolster the team. The morning was briefly interrupted by the stern Elder Drax and his metallic-skinned protector Gravel, who grumbled about the Watch’s appetite before heading toward the festivities. We also met Bram, a jovial Satyr who invited us to visit the great roots in the Gully later that evening.

Soon, Elder Valena summoned the Watch for a sacred ceremonial task: climbing the Main Mast (The Heart-Tree) to perform the Scattering of the Grain.

View from the Canopy

The climb was grueling, while most reached the summit to release the Gold Drip Barley, Veyer stayed part way up at the lookout to keep watch. The ritual created beautiful meteorite-like trails over the village, starting the festivities that will last days.

From her vantage point Veyer, spotted Captain Kezreth’s ship, the Warp-Spite, appearing on the horizon. More alarmingly a Githyanki skiff was seen heading to the Shattered Shore and Elder Drax leaving the village, with Gravel in tow carrying a mysterious, leather-wrapped bundle.

Betrayal at the Shattered Shore

In a display of kobold and goblin ingenuity, Tink and Pea modified the Steel Defender’s legs, allowing it to act as a “sledge” to slide the party down the stabilising vines of the Main Mast. The Watch arrived at the cliffs just in time to witness a clandestine meeting between Drax and three gaunt Githyanki Privateers.

To mask their presence, the Druid, Lindon, wild-shaped into a goat to wander the clifftop creating a nosey distraction. Front the cliff tops The Watch overheard the deal go sour: the Githyanki were demanding Wayfarer Oak—a violation of the Law of the Grove—rather than the agreed-upon sap and flax. When the Githyanki drew their silver swords to threaten Drax, Pea took the initiative and shot the Githyanki leader.

The Skirmish

A chaotic battle erupted on the amethyst sands:

  • Pea provided relentless cover fire from the cliffs.
  • Tink’s Steel Defender charged the beach to engage the pirates.
  • Leonardo’s magic took a turn for the surreal; after firing a chaos bolt, he surged into a Wild Magic state and transformed into a potted plant.
  • The Githyanki Captain used psionics to Misty Step through the fray, severely wounding Drax and cutting down Gravel as he defended the mysterious bundle.
  • Helios the Cleric made a quick tactical decision to throw the “potted” Leonardo off the cliff. The plant was then burnt and stabbed before turning back into an unconscious Teifling.
  • Lindon used the earth itself to entangle the remaining Githyanki stopping them from escaping back to their skiff.

The fight ended with a roar as Veyer delivered the killing blow to the Githyanki leader.

The Aftermath

As the dust settled, the Githyanki were defeated, and Pea managed to board the Githyanki’s bone-and-brass skiff. The Watch now stands on the Shattered Shore with a wounded Elder, Gravel fallen, and a stolen ship.
