1. Oakhaven

Adrift in the Silver Void

Since the Great Shattering, Oakhaven has served as an unlikely sanctuary for survivors of dying worlds. A bioluminescent shard of the Feywild propelled by three gargantuan Wayfarer Oaks, the island limps through the Silver Void. To ensure their continued residence, a group of refugees known as The Watch serves as Oakhaven’s first line of defense against the terrors of the astral sea.

The Festival of First Budding

At dawn, the team gathered at Marna’s Bakery for Nectar-Cakes and a brief encounter with the stern Elder Drax and his dwarven protector, Gravel. After a jovial invitation from the Satyr Bram to visit the village taproots, the party was summoned by Elder Valena for a sacred task: climbing the Main Mast—the gargantuan Heart Tree—to perform the ritual Scattering of the Grain.

View from the Canopy

While the rest of the party scaled the summit to release the glowing Gold Drip Barley, Veyer remained at a midway lookout. From her vantage point, she spotted two troubling sights: a Githyanki skiff approaching the uninhabited Shattered Shore and Elder Drax sneaking out of the village with a mysterious, leather-wrapped bundle in tow. While Leonardo thought he could see a dark shadow on the horizon.

Betrayal at the Shattered Shore

Acting quickly, Tink and Pea jury-rigged the Steel Defender into a mechanical sledge, allowing the party to slide down the stabilising vines of the Main Mast to the cliffs below. The Watch arrived at the cliffs just in time to witness a clandestine meeting between Drax and three gaunt Githyanki Privateers.

To mask their presence, the Druid, Lindon, wild-shaped into a goat to wander the clifftop creating a nosey distraction.

From the cliff tops The Watch overheard the deal go sour: the Githyanki were demanding Wayfarer Oak—a violation of the Law of the Grove—rather than the agreed-upon sap and flax. When the Githyanki drew their silver swords to threaten Drax, Pea took the initiative and shot the Githyanki leader.

The Skirmish

A chaotic battle erupted on the amethyst sands:

  • Pea maintained relentless cover fire from the high ground while Tink’s Steel Defender charged the beach.
  • Leonardo’s magic surged into the surreal; after a chaos bolt, he transformed into a potted plant—which Helios promptly hurled off the cliff to join the fray.
  • The Githyanki Captain misty-stepped through the combat, severely wounding Drax and cutting down Gravel as he defended the bundle.
  • Lindon used the earth to entangle the remaining pirates stopping them escaping with the bundle.

The fight ended with a roar as Veyer delivered the killing blow to the Githyanki leader.

The Aftermath

The Githyanki are defeated and their bone-and-brass skiff lies just off shore, but the victory is bittersweet. The Watch now stands on the Shattered Shore with a wounded Elder, a fallen protector, and knowledge of a dark secret that threatens the very peace of Oakhaven.
